It was a great day when you came home from the Track and your mom had placed a $5.00 Tri-fecta for you and you won. $27.00. So, maybe your friend Mickey made more than you but it was fun just the same. With an empty college wallet you Waiter at Laurel Racetrack in Maryland on the weekends and completely rely on your partner, Kathy, to bat her blue eyes for all the tips while you try to sneak a look at the races instead.
Your career takes you to Wall Street where your analytical brain takes over for years and then your E-Trade job moves you to Virginia and you buy a house in Great Falls with rolling hills and horse farms. You land on Tralee Drive, it looks like Ireland.
Fast Forward 25 years later--there aren't many horse farms left in Great Falls, you're an empty nester with two foster-fails, your dogs Gordon and Dax. You're a sucker.
You run your own lending company now and then COVID hits and time is well, a lot of time. So, very quickly are trying to find a hobby...(why did you start the horse stuff) you are picking up on how this stuff works, calling on professionals in the industry to pick their brain; researching; investigating horses; syndicates; numbersand data, and just admiring the sheer beauty of the animal starts you on a path.
So you tell your wife you just bought a horse--well maybe one hoof up to the knee. My wife quickly corrects me and says, " we own the part that crosses the finish line first". and that's how this whole thing got started.
If you want the boring version of my background I'd love to discuss it over a glass of Cabernet.
If we break down analytics into manageable and understandable parts for our owners then add in facts we know to be true about a horse and then, the "gut" feeling--we are starting in a good place. Other factors considered are:
… and that’s besides owning a thoroughbred race horse and enjoying the experience!

It was great, our wrangler was wonderful and you gave us horses that matched our riding abilities. Your ranch is in a beautiful location and we want to come back for the tbone ride!
